The winter weather has arrived early this year for many of us and it is time to have a game plan in place for dealing with snow and ice removal from your property. Beginning with the first winter storm, we know that claims can begin to accumulate as rapidly as the snow. Many, if not most of these claims, can be prevented with proper snow and ice removal. Slip and fall claims are common after any winter event or freeze. Having a plan in place to reduce the exposure of these claims, or the ability to transfer responsibility for these claims to snow removal contractors, is critical.
